What to expect

How far in advance should I schedule my session? 

I recommend scheduling at least 4-6 weeks in advance for a week day session to allow for proper planning. If you are interested in a weekend session, I typically book anywhere from 6-8 weeks in advance. If you’re trying to book something last minute, You can always email to see what I have available, cancellations happen, and I can see what we can squeeze in.

 

What does the session fee include?

The session fee includes my time, planning of the session, equipment and artistic editing and care of each image. In addition, this fee includes retouching, and online previewing of your session images in a private gallery. The session fee also includes the digital form of your finished photos, carefully delivered by the USPS, to your door.

 

How do I schedule my newborn photo session?

If you are confused on how to schedule your newborn photo session, just tell me your estimated due date and then I’ll block off some time around that. When your baby finally does make his/her appearance, contact me as soon as you are able and we will set a specific date. I ask that newborn sessions are held within the first 10 days, as that is when we’re going to get the most cooperation for all those adorable newborn poses. The most important thing, however, is to book your session as soon as you can while you’re pregnant. Please don’t wait until your baby is born as my schedule fills up very quickly.

 

Where is the session location? What about props?

We are natural light photographers so all of our sessions (besides newborn and boudoir sessions) take place outdoors. Let’s collaborate to develop the story you want your images to tell. Sessions take place at the location of your choice (in the Tulsa area) and can include props or personal items. Whether that be at a park, with a favorite teddy bear, in a barn, the choices are endless. I have lots of ideas for session locations and we can explore those options upon booking.  If you don’t have a location in mind, don’t stress, Tulsa has lots of great places to shoot, and I am happy to offer suggestions. Keep in mind certain locations might charge a fee for taking photographs. 

 

What do I wear?

There’s no right or wrong answer to this question. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. I am happy to help with every step of the wardrobe planning. If I could offer any advice, it would be not to worry about matching so much as choosing colors and patterns that complement each other. Wear something you will be proud to show off to friends and family. I would suggest you stick to clothing without visible branding or writing. 

 

How long will it take to get my photos after the session?

I sometimes post a sneak peek of 1-2 photos on my Facebook page about 3 days after the session and you are more than welcome to tag yourself in these photos to share with friends. Once we have uploaded the photos to our "client proofs" gallery, you will then be asked to choose the photos that we eventually edit. Once editing begins, it can take as long as 2-3 weeks for portrait shoots and close to 4 weeks for weddings to complete, depending on our workload at the time. If you must have your photos this weekend, we offer a priority editing package.
